A wet Mesquite weekend.

We went to Mesquite a couple weekends ago for Doug's softball. I was so excited to get away and to have some warm weather for a change. I guess I shouldn't have been so excited because we basically brought our weather down with us. We went on Friday and stayed in St. George. It was still kinda cool, but warmer then here, so I was really looking forward to Saturday in Mesquite. Well, the day started OK, but by late morning it was raining and basically didn't really stop until it managed to turn into a lightning storm downpour that ended up ending the tournament early. To top it all off, Cougar and Cruise were on antibiotics for ear infections, Doug had a migraine all day Friday and Friday night, and I got sick Saturday night. I ended up with a sinus infection and two developing ear infections. Doug's team still took first place and it was still a nice break from reality, so the trip wasn't a complete disaster. It sure would have been nice to have been warm for a change, though!

Cougar Pictures

Nevada and Brighton pictures

I took Cruise to get his 3 month pictures taken a month ago and while there I had them take some of Nevada, Brighton and Cougar as well. Brighton had allergies so her eyes were all red and puffy. Needless to say, hers didn't turn out so great, but I did get some cute ones of the other three.

A day in Ogden

I spent a Saturday in Ogden at my parent's house so my dad could fix the horn on my car. That was the only thing that needed to be fixed for it to pass the safety test. My tabs actually expired last November, but it just wouldn't feel right without procrastinating a bit! While there, Nevada and Brighton came up with a new use for pom-poms!

Thanks Dad for your expertise and time. It sure feels good to be driving legally again!

Just a few cute pictures!

Bouncers are made for two, right?

Cruise was actually sound asleep!

This was Cougar's handiwork. He used one of those sticker things that comes off of the inside of a new container of wipes. Apparently he thinks Cruise cries too much?!
Just one cute kid!

What kind of circus doesn't have a clown!!!

On a last-minute whim, we took our kids to the Jordan World Circus a week or so ago at the McKay Events Center. All in all a fun evening, however, I didn't think you could have a circus without at least one clown. I mean, come on, what would it really take to have one clown walking around. It wouldn't even have to be one that can make balloon animals. Just a clown with a red ball nose would really make it a circus.
That being said - our kids were entertained and I guess that is what really counts. Nevada and Brighton look totally thrilled to be there in the pictures, but they actually had a good time. Cougar is totally fixated with animals right now, especially elephants and tigers, so he was completely entranced during the animals acts. Before the show and during intermission you could go down and get a ride on one of the elephants, get a pony ride or have your picture taken sitting next to a black bear or a bunch of colored poodles. Cougar just wanted to go and watch the elephants as they walked by!
He would wave to all of the animals as they came into the arena and say "bye-bye" to them as they left. He is such a cool kid. What would we do without him?
Definitely not your Barnum and Bailey get-up, but we still had a lot of fun for a last-minute mid-week family activity!

Wow, what a hectic week!

I feel like so much has happened since my last post, but I haven't had any time to keep up with my blog. Sure, I get five minutes here and five minutes there, but that doesn't do much good when there's loads of laundry, dirty dishes, garbage to take out, and random messes to pick up. That 5 minutes goes pretty fast! Most of this last week was spent taking care of sick kids. Cougar got two ear infections, one ruptured, and then, lo and behold, five days later I was back at the doctor's office with Cruise and two more ear infections. The ears aren't too bad once you get the antibiotics started, it's the runny noses, red puffy eyes, sneezing and coughing that seem to drag out forever! I think we are about to the end, just a few sniffles and sneezes left.
We did go to the circus Tuesday night. I took some pictures, don't know how they turned out yet, so I will post on that a bit later. We are heading to St. George and Mesquite for the weekend for Doug's softball, one more post for that, too. For now, there are a few loads of laundry to do, dishes to be done and bags to pack!
